Ram Home

The South Haven football players and coaches are on a journey.  The journey starts in Dowagiac and ends in Ford Field.  In order to make that happen the weight room is packed with players and coaches that are working to reach this goal.

At the same time, this site is continually changing.  Check back on a daily basis to see what is going on in the South Haven Football family.

NATS is a Great College Prep Resource

posted Mar 19, 2009 9:34 AM by Sam Nichols

The National Athletic Testing System (NATS) was created to help students and parents as they prepare for college.  Here some of the benefits that this program provides.

  • Each student-athlete's Player Profile is placed online for review by every college football program in the country.

  • The Player Profile remains in the NATS database for the student-athlete's entire high school career and includes color body photo, verified athletic test results, game statistics, academic profile, contact numbers and email for the student, his parents and high school coach.

  • A personal online Profile Updater allows each student-athlete to keep his game statistics, academic status and contact information current.

  • A personal online Core Course Calculator is provided for each student-athlete to easily track his academic progress towards NCAA Eligibility Center requirements.

  • Streaming online Test Preparation Videos assist the student-athlete in training and preparing for each drill.

  • A personal online Results Analysis report includes personal percentile rankings for each drill. Comparisons are made within the student-athlete's graduating class and across the entire database.

  • Student-athletes are provided access to critically important educational information on the NATS website covering NCAA Eligibility Center guidelines, recruiting rules and issues, academic progress timelines and financial aid resources.

  • Test results help each student-athlete target deficiencies and provides motivation to improve physical skills.

  • Annual participation in NATS Combines from freshman year gives the student-athlete the experience and confidence needed to achieve his maximum performance prior to his senior season.

Football Meeting Highly Attended

posted Feb 19, 2009 7:04 AM by Sam Nichols

On February 18th, coaches held the first football meeting in preparation for the 2009 season.  Over 70 players grades 9-11 showed up for the meeting nearly doubling the interest from last year.  This is a big step for our program and will ensure that we can have three competitive levels of high school football this fall.  Player attending the meeting were told that it is not whether or not we can win a championship that we should be deciding, it is whether or not we are willing to do the work to be champions.

The effort that this group puts in over the next few months will go along way toward telling us if we are capable of reaching our potential this fall.  There is excitement in the air and we are itching to get started.  Just 189 days until Dowagiac.
